CRONIXX TAKES SPOTFY TO TASK

 Reggae luminary Chronixx has raised a poignant issue within the music industry, accusing Spotify of lax security measures that allowed unauthorized music to be uploaded to his account. The renowned streaming platform has been grappling with a trend of scam artists tagging prominent names in songs, falsely appearing as collaborations, and gaining visibility on artists' accounts.

Chronixx recently fell victim to this scam, with two unauthorized tracks, "A Nuhb Long Talk" and the explicit "Manuva," uploaded to his Spotify account under the label "Brahma." Venting his frustration on Instagram Stories over the weekend, the "Smile Jamaica" singer denounced Spotify's lack of safeguards for artists' accounts, emphasizing that his account was not hacked but rather compromised due to the platform's permissive policies.

Despite Spotify's protocol allowing artists to report unauthorized music, Chronixx highlighted the inefficiency of the existing system and called upon his fellow creators to inundate his profile with more music, humorously suggesting to "keep the releases busy" since he had no imminent plans for new material.

Chronixx's latest critique comes in the wake of his followers clamoring for the signature quality he brings to reggae. His most recent release, "Never Give Up," resonated with listeners in 2022, evoking echoes of Bob Marley and the I-Threes. Produced by Inflo for UK label Forever Living Originals, the track hinted at future collaborations with the same team, a partnership rooted in familial bonds and a shared passion for musical innovation.

The artist's acclaimed project "Chronology," released in 2017, solidified his status as a reggae icon, garnering chart-topping success and earning a Grammy nomination. From its Soul Circle Music production to its transnational marketing, the 16-track album remains a testament to Chronixx's artistic prowess and enduring influence within the genre.
